2 tablespoons butter or margarine1 teaspoon fresh nutmeg, grated1 small onion, thinly sliced1/2 teaspoon salt4 cups whipping cream1/2 teaspoon pepper2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
Heat margarine in skillet, over medium heat. Saut? onion until tender. Stir in whipping cream, heat to boiling. Stir in remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, Stirring often.
Makes about 3 1/2 cups.
